Reading Vipers

What a great start to the year! We begun by reading the Michael Morpurgo novel "Friend or Foe", before moving onto "The Mozart Question" by the same author. We finished the year by reading "Once" by Morris Gleitzman.

For the Spring term, we are moving away from historical fiction and will start by reading "A Monster Calls" by Patrick Ness. The book covers some serious themes, but in a very sensible manner. It is a modern classic novel, which the children will love.

The school is purchasing 90 copies of the book, so the parents do not have to buy one. Later in the term we will be looking at "You are Awesome" by Mathew Syad. An incredible book which shows us all about the power of positive thinking and how we all have the potential to be "Awesome". Again, the school has purchased 90 copies of this.
