Here are the pictures of our year 6 residential trip to France 2007. Staying at the Château du Tertre in Normandy the children went on day trips and took part in team activities to develop their independence. Château based activities included bridge building over a river, not for the feint hearted! Climbing and high wire work was an adventure not to be missed and lots of field sports and games for everyone. A day trip to the Peace Memorial at Caen and the Bayeaux cemetery was a highlight of the week and helped the children to understand their World War 2 classroom studies better. Visits to a bakery and a butter farm where the children could get some practical experience of making butter and help prepare croissant for baking were great fun. A trip to Evron market was organised so children could buy ingredients for a lunch that they had to prepare themselves. This was an opportunity to practice their French as well. Finally, everyone attended a leaving disco and danced the night away, well most of the evening any way! All in all a great week of learning, fun and adventure.
