Welcome to the Year 5 page!
If you have any suggestions of what else we could put on our page to help achieve this then please email your ideas to Miss Stemp - firstname.lastname@example.org. Thank you!
5S: Miss Stemp, Mr Fender and Mr Burge
5M: Miss McCarthy, Mrs Betts and Mrs Hills
5R: Mr Rouch and Mr Archer
We have really enjoyed meeting our new classes this week. We are all very excited for the learning adventures we have ahead of us.
We hope you all have a lovely relaxing summer and we look forward to welcoming you back on Wednesday 2nd September.
You can find below the presentation that was shown to the pupils, our first year 5 newsletter, the contents of the Summer home learning pack that was sent home and finally a video of Miss McCarthy introducing herself to 5M.
The first topic that we will be exploring in Year 5 is ‘The Great, The Bold and The Brave’ which has an Ancient Greek focus. To launch our first topic, we will be having an Ancient Greek day on Friday 4th September 2020. Children can come to school dressed as an Ancient Greek person and will take part in lots of fun activities including a taste of some greek foods. To cover the cost of these activities, we would be grateful for a £1 donation from each child. Attached to the newsletter (above) is a reply slip to state whether your child has any allergies that we should be aware of for this day. We know the children are very excited, as are we.
Our class reader for the first half term will be 'Who Let the Gods Out' by Maz Evans. There is no need to specifically buy a copy but you may like to for your child to access during these sessions.
