Why RE? This subject allows for discussion and exploration of themes that affect everyone and promotes tolerance, respect and understanding of different beliefs and cultures.

Diwali A look at the Hindu story of Rama and Sita. Children also find out about Hindu temples and have an in depth discussion about the Diwali story. |
Christmas Children are reminded about the Christmas story. They think about how it is celebrated and why. They think about Christmas traditions both at people’s homes and in Churches. The importance of light at Christmas time is also discussed. |
What did Jesus teach? This half term, children focus on the Parables including The Lost Sheep, The Good Samaritan and The Sower and The Seed. They discuss the meanings of the stories and think about the lesson Jesus was teaching through each.

The Easter Story What happened at Easter? How and why is it celebrated? Do celebrations differ around the world? |
Judaism A detailed look at the Jewish faith. What is Judaism? What is the Torah? What is a synagogue? Jewish celebrations, including Hanukkah, Purim, Sukkot, Passover. What are these festivals and how are they celebrated? |
