Recently our year 6 swimming relay team (Andrew Buchanan, Ben Lane, James Gibbons and Matthew Boxall) took part in the Surrey Schools Swimming Association Gala held at the Spectrum in Guildford. They swam 2 relays, a freestyle followed by a medley. If the team came 1st or 2nd within their heat they would have to swim again in the finals, which they did! In the medley they even came first, swimming against some of the best schools in Surrey.
They swam really well in both finals and finished in a respectable 6th and 8th place. Miss Fremault is very proud of their achievements in such a high level of competition.
It didn't stop there. Miss Fremault took another swimming delegation to the Horley Anderson Center where Meath Green would swim against other local schools. Here the children swam really well, reaching a 1st place in the individual races Back stroke, Butterfly and Breaststroke and Medley for Yr6 boys and girls.
Overall we came 2nd, R.A.A.S. being 1st with a difference of 18points.
The winners of the races now have to represent our school in Warlingham on 20th May.
Congratulations and well done to all the swimmers.
