Stephanie Snow
Co-opted Governor
I have been a governor at Meath Green Junior School for five years. I started as a Parent Governor when my own children attended the school but became a Co-opted Governor more recently. I currently sit on the Learning and Standards committee.
I am a qualified social worker with an extensive background in child protection, parenting support/intervention, court proceedings and children in care. I currently manage a team of social workers in West Sussex. I am also a teaching fellow at Chichester University, lecturing on children’s social work law modules for MA and BA courses.
I initially wanted to be a governor as I wanted to have an input to the school where my children were being educated and because I felt that my skill set could be useful. My children are both now in secondary school but I have remained as a governor at Meath Green Juniors because I have a passion for our school and the journey we have been on in recent years. I feel my role is one that can really assist the school leadership team and most importantly I really enjoy working with everyone.
My social work background has been helpful to the school and is reflected in the specific roles and responsibility I have taken on in safeguarding and SEN. I have extensive experience with safeguarding issues, parenting support, looked after children and children with additional learning needs.
Outside of work I mainly seem to spend my time ferrying around my two teenage sons to different sporting activities. I enjoy reading a lot and I am a very keen camper and will be found in a field in England or France in the summer months.
