Book Week January 2010 - 27 January 2010

Our theme this year was ‘Traditional Tales from around the World’. The idea was to challenge children’s current perceptions of traditional texts through exploring a mixture of versions.

The week will include a whole school dressing up day and assembly on the Monday, performances from the infamous storytellers ‘Spud and Yam’ on the Tuesday, cooking with Miss Bruce throughout the week and a steel band performance on Friday.

Year 3 will be chasing after ‘The Gingerbread Man’.
Year 4 are going to be wandering through the forest with ‘Little Red Riding Hood’.
Year 5 will be whisked away to various Eastern countries with ‘Cinderella’.
Year 6 will also be comparing/contrasting versions of ‘Cinderella’ with a Western Twist!
