Sport at Meath Green Junior School

We strongly believe in the power of sport in helping to develop rounded, healthy and confident young people and have a long and successful tradition in sport and physical activity.

Those who have been part of the school speak about how sport and physical activity are such an important part of the culture of the school.

Swimming:

Having our own pool ensures that all pupils get  the experience of swimming each year. The aim is to develop water confidence, stroke technique, water safety and life-saving skills.

Competition

Competition has always been an important part of school and this is reflected in the sport and physical education the pupils experience through school. We believe passionately that every child should experience what it is like to be part of a meaningful team and experience the thrills, disappointments and comradeship that this brings.

Inter-house Competition

Our inter-house competition programme ensures this happens. Every child will represent their house in at least one inter-house competition.

Having such a strong inter-house system ensures we field strong school teams. We have a great tradition of being successful in local competitions and belong to the Reigate PE association as well as our own Horley PE association to ensure we get the correct level of competition.
