End of Key Stage 2 Tests

2017 was the second year of the new Key Stage 2 tests. The new assessments are based on the new national curriculum that was introduced by the government in 2014.

The new curriculum has significantly higher expectations of primary aged pupils. The pupils who sat the tests in 2017 had been taught through the new curriculum for three years.

Average Scaled Score

Nationally test results are translated into scaled scores to ensure consistency of results across the country. A child achieving a score of 100 is said to be working at the expected standard at the end of year 6.
