Welcome To Our School

All our children, staff and governors would like to welcome you to our school. We are proud of our exciting and varied learning environment for children aged between 7 and 11. We are a vibrant, happy school that enables children to enjoy all aspects of learning and to grow into confident, articulate and talented individuals. Our prospectus and our website will give you a taste of our ethos but it is only by visiting our school that you will experience the very special atmosphere. We look forward to showing you around.

Our Learning Should Be Fun

We prepare our pupils as fully as possible for their future in a changing and challenging world. We want them to be well equipped in all subjects so that they are able to make the most of their school careers.

Through the curriculum children develop independent thought, take responsibility for their own learning, value themselves and others and appreciate the world around them. There are many opportunities in music, the arts, sports and our lunchtime and after school clubs. We use the environment and provide a rich variety of experiences as a vital part of the curriculum. Many educational visits take place including exciting residential trips in years 4, 5 and 6.

Every Child Matters

The children in our school are central to all that we do. They are frequently complimented about their behaviour, manners and confidence. They are involved in decision making through the School Parliament.

We have and expect, high standards of behaviour.

All our children are encouraged to care for and support one another. MGJ is a caring school with an emphasis on co-operation and mutual respect. We provide a safe and supportive learning environment for all children whether they need support with their learning or are more able learners.

We Encourage Partnership

The partnership between home and school is an important feature. Parents are kept informed of their child's progress through parent teacher consultations and an end of year report. Our newsletters and website keep parents and friends informed of recent activities, achievements, forthcoming events and routine information.

We welcome the help we receive from parents in class, around school and on educational visits and are continually looking for ways to develop even stronger links.
