I was appointed as a Parent Governor in Autumn 2018 shortly after my daughter joined the school in September. As well as being on the main Governing Body I am also on the Learning and Standards Committee.
I became a governor because I have a passion for education and want to make a positive contribution to the school so that it can continue to remain highly successful and go from strength to strength. l will endeavour to play an active role in supporting the school to continue to create an environment whereby each child is happy, proud, honest and resilient and everyone is respected and nurtured so they can achieve their best.
I attended Loughborough University of Technology where I qualified as a maths teacher. I have worked in a number of schools and now have over twenty years’ experience in secondary education in a variety of leadership roles. I have had a wide range of school responsibilities including safeguarding, curriculum development progress and assessment and special educational needs.
I am married with two children. My eldest daughter is in Year 9 and is currently studying hard for her GCSEs; she hopes to have a career in the Performing Arts. My youngest daughter is in Year 4 at MGJS. In my spare time I enjoy reading, gardening and going to the gym.
