Henley Fort residential

Wednesday 1.50pm - We’re coming home!

Henley Forters will be arriving back at MGJS at 2.45. We will hold onto children if this clashes with picking up siblings. Please come onto the year 3/4 playground to collect them. Thanks.

Goodbye from Henley Fort.

Wednesday 10.15am

We are all packed up and enjoying the last of the activities before lunch and then heading home.

Our ETA should be 2.45pm. We will need to unload the coach and reunite the children with their bags so don’t worry if you are later than this as we can hold onto the children until you can collect them.

I will let you know when we are leaving.

Good morning from Henley Fort. It was a very quiet night last night.

Tuesday 10.15pm

After the campfire finished, with military precision, everyone got ready for bed, settled and fell fast asleep within 45minutes... that’s got to be a record! Cuppa and then bed for us staff too. More updates tomorrow.

Night.

Tuesday 6.30pm

We’ve all had a brilliant day, in the marvellous sunshine, enjoying the activities. There’s a few photos below for you to enjoy.

Dinner was chicken fajitas or fish fingers with chips, sweetcorn and salad bar. Chocolate cake and ice cream for pud.

We’re off to collect wood for our campfire before having marshmallows and s’mores by it.

Tuesday 9am

We’ve all had breakfast, faces washed and teeth cleaned. Had to explain quite a few times what a flannel is for. Beds have been made and yurts have been tidied up. Water bottles are refilled. Hats and sun cream have been applied. So we are all ready for the busy day ahead which consists of low rope challenge course, team tasks, orienteering, fire lighting, shelter building, tracking, clay creatures, animal collage making and predators vs prey!

Don’t worry... we are not going hungry!

Tuesday 5.45am

Good morning from Henley Fort. Most of us got some sleep during an uneventful night. Quite a few of the children are already awake. Looking forward to our delicious cooked breakfast and a day filled with great activities.

Monday 11pm

Everyone is fast asleep. Hopefully, it will stay that way. Night night from Henley Fort.

Monday 9pm

PJs are on (not mine yet). Hot chocolate has been made and drunk times 84. About a third of the children are watching Lilo and Stitch on DVD whilst the rest are having some quiet time (and probably a good old gossip) in their yurts.

Monday 7pm

We’ve had a lovely dinner. 92 beds have been made...mainly by the adults. The children are making the most of the glorious evening sunshine before they have hot chocolate and an early night....ha ha.

We have arrived safely at Henley Fort.
